Well,well, I didn't get much of the hype revolving around CoD:MW2, considering I live in Germany (I'd be glad if anybody in my town even heard of TF2).
However, I have heard of a few folks wanting to boycott it.

I'd start with COD4, then go straight on to this one. Great series of games.

Nice review. The game looks like a lot of fun. I've never actually played any of the COD franchise properly, so this might be a good place to start!

This game looks epic. I hear in the PS3 version you can play as the Joker :D Reminds me of the old Spiderman game for PS2, being able to play as the Green Goblin :P
